“We think an iPhone 4 case with a built-in battery that can add up to 36-hours of life to your iPhone is a great idea. Apparently we aren’t the only ones.” - Mophie Juice Pack Air at werd.com

What I really like about these cases is how well they compliment the iPhone it self, worth every penny you spend on it.

Path 2.0 and all it’s glory

I thought i’d start my comeback to tech blogging, by talking bout Path2.0. Now some of you may not heard of Path. I’ll be talking about what Path2.0 is and why you should toss it a try and for those who have it, I’ll talk about what I think needs abit more polish. Now to start off Path2.0 is a reboot of well you guessed it, Path1.0. What Path1.0 was in a nutshell, it was a different Instagram. A social photo sharing app, now one of the bigger reason that helped Path1.0 not jump to the top, seeing how instagram did was it was lacking in a few areas. The 2 major ones were social support within the app, and a easy to use UI to make and help share media. That said after many months they looked at what people were sharing about their app and what it should have and what could work better, now for the better part they did. In Path2.0 the UI is cleaner and more focused on its core purpose. The one thing I like most is that instead of just copy pasting Instagram for a a quick fix, they did something not many saw coming. We all know you can share photos with different tastes and twists on Instragram for everyone to see, well Path said screw that and added sharing for everything, well not everything—but enough that it could be called game changing, not just for Path but social media sharing in general. Now some must be thinking I’m nuts, that social media is at its peak, no where to go but down and that there is too much ways to share. All those points are true in their own right. We have too many networks in my honest option, twitter, Facebook, foursquare, linkin, blogs, instagram and the list just goes on. Now on the bright side all these let you share in different ways, not just one. Now Path takes what is already underway in the social networks, integration and by that I mean linking different social apps together to act like one. Facebook and twitter is one, from twitter you can have your twits posted on your wall on Facebook. Tumblr let’s you post to your twitter all your reblogs and posts you have and even to Facebook. So now you ask how does Path2.0 fit in to all this integration that is already there, well that simple -it does it better. In Path2.0 you have the photo sharing Instragram clone part still, but now you have options to do just text posts, what you are listening to, where you ate, who your with and even gives you the choice of letting you tell people when you are sleeping and when you wake up with a wake and sleep function. Now the sleep/wake function is abit over the top for me but I’m sure some people will like it in a odd weird way. Now what I do like is with having Facebook messenger app and path I find the need to use the twitter, tumblr app not needed as much for small things, which is just fine for me. Now I can post to Facebook, twitter, and tumblr how much I hate Facebook all at once from one app. That’s was all the good parts, now on to the bad, in Path2.0 one of the major fails is still there but now it’s not as bad as before. That part is the lack of internal social intigration, so short and sweet hash tags mean shit and you can only find users by direct search or through invites by way if Facebook, SMS, and email, due to how you setup an account Path will match any number in your contacts to a number link in the said user path profile. The lack of title options in a bit shit, and by shit i mean its nit even there. But to be honest unless you are writing a large post just like this one you will make fine and plus who wants to write that on an iPhone or android anyway. Over all the number of bad things out weigh what is awesome and new. That being said I think this type of social interface may make using all that shit that is made easy to use, I may not be able to view twits and blog posts from those who aren’t my friends and whom I follow. It does help make central how I make my posts, and I can time line it all in one app. So if you need one place to post twits, quick blogs and dot your wall with awesome posts then this is your app.

iPhone 5, October 4..woot

After all this time we finally have a date its October 4, and Apple isn’t even being shy about the matter with the invite to the event says “Let’s talk iPhone”. At least this puts all these rumors of dates and release times, though we are talking about the iPhone on Tuesday this week, now the big question is when it goes for sale and lets pay us folks of the north don’t have to wait for 2 months after the American release. Now to be fair I don’t think the street date of the iPhone 5 will be that long after the 4th of October, I give it a week after the 4th, all and all I just hope they don’t shit all over the iPhone and make it look like shit-make it look like the 4, its a great look, but thats me. Also means its almost time for iSO, I’m excited to have the new revamped iTunes to play with, re download all my old bought songs that I thought I lost after a few bad trips with my old iPhone. Lets hope this new phone is beyond epic :).

My two cents

To date the major rumors bout the iPhone 5 have been.

Change of flash set up, better camera

Dropping of the glass back

Thinner design

Teardrop design

Larger screen

Now keep in mind there are more then that, but these are as mentioned the major ones.

Things the iPhone could use after a year(now kept in mind some of these are my personal thoughts, and some are what the phone should have)

Better cameras and flash system.

More optimized battery

A5 dual core ARM Processor

Truth is I’m more then happy with the iPhone 4 shell, it’s stylish and works great(antenna issues aside). The iPhone is more then just awesome hardware(android fanboys would argue this,) Truth is ill be the first to agree that the iPhone could always use something better or faster, I just don’t think it always needs it.

What most don’t know is the the iPhone is more about the software, then say the hardware. IOS 5 is a great example of that, the changes in software are amazing, from iCloud, to the notification centre, the reader function and the camera button.( I’ll write a post about the details later).

We can all argue till we are blue in the face bout software, hardware and the cases on the web that are clearly iPod touch cases. That in the end all we need is a phone that can do most everything we need with just the right balance, and so far Apple has done a great job.

Is it real or just another rumor.

The last few days it’s been getting worse and worse, everywhere you read or go. What I’m talking about is the iPhone 5 rumors sweeping the web like a pandemic ready to end all life.

Normally I’m all for new iPhone news, but this is abit nuts, not to say that there hasn’t been good coverage that makes sense. Though it seems you can’t look at the good with out getting a hit or two of bad. That being said I’m gonna add my 2 cents bout some of the rumors to date.

Sweet

So today marks the end of the month, so far we’ve been treated to tidbits of what to expect in the coming months. Tomorrow also starts the month that will in hope will finally show us everything we’ve been hearing and hoping about in the last little bit here. Now what to expect, we have the normal September round of news from Apple regarding we hope iphone 5 and itunes related matters. Microsoft has its own work about Windows 8 to talk bout.

I’m excited and can’t wait for the coming month.
